Embracing Cosmic Neighbours
Supreme Winner - 2024 BJ Ball/Ball & Doggett Student Design Contest.
This piece was created in response to the theme, “Visions of the Future - and expression of the future through type and colour.” Imagining a playful and optimistic future, my design envisions a world where aliens and humans coexist as cosmic neighbours. To bring this idea to life, I developed a custom illustrated typeface that integrates sci-fi motifs and storytelling, using vibrant colour and character driven visuals.
Judges praised the piece as:
“A humorous and well realised take on the brief. Strong use of hand illustrated type, with visual gags contained within some of the characters. Very cool!”
“Great use of developing own typeface and including colour and graphics in the font.”
“Impressive custom typeface design, incorporating vibrant colours and integrated graphics.”
Selected as one of the supreme winners, my work was featured in the 2025 calendar and in the March 2025 issue of GSM magazine.

La Porte
Conceptual Packaging Design - 2025
La porte is a conceptual tea brand that specialises in sleep and relaxation blends. Aimed at a sophisticated audience, those who enjoy candles, quiet rituals, and wine chosen by the label, this brand invites users to unwind through this brew.
The project focused on a packaging system, beginning with the Pear & Blackberry Sleepy Tea. La Porte is rooted in the idea of transitioning into rest. Its slogan “the doorway to your dreams”, informed the visual language through archways, dreamy motifs, and soft illustrations.
The outcome is a visually rich and flexible packaging concept, designed to adapt with future flavours while maintaining a cohesive identity rooted in mood and elegance.

Astrodog.
Visual Identity - 2025
AstroDog is a small dog walking and training business based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. The client approached me with a clear creative vision; to develop a playful logo that combines the themes of space and dogs, specifically capturing the moment of wild joy when small dogs play.
The deliverables included a primary logo, supporting colour palette and set of logo variations. I also developed brand guidelines to ensure future consistency and easy use.
The final identity reflects the personality of the brand; playful, fun, and dynamic.
